Hello Year 12,
I expect by the end of the week (17/3/13), that you will have completed the TWO academic readings, the readings printed from the HSC Online Website and annotated each of the Hughes poems that we are studying.
If you are struggling with the poems, I suggest reading the articles first then attempting to analyse the poetry.
On Monday May 19, I will expect you to participate in a class discussion surrounding the following questions (For each of the poems):
1. What is the poem about?
2. What imagery is evident in the poem (annotate the poem, highlighting the poetic techniques)?
3. What is the perspective/s? What does it suggest about Plath?
4. What is your personal response to the poem?
I have put all the necessary information and poems online (under the Ted Hughes section), I will also provide you with additional copies of the poems.
I would also like to remind those students who were asked to re-write their essays… to do so!
Regards,
Miss Glynn
